Club volleyball is a key part of the volleyball calendar in New Zealand, with the club season traditionally spanning terms 2 and 3 (approximately May to October).​

The MVC Rangers (men) and Scouts (women) teams provide a pathway for local athletes to compete in club volleyball. This is important for a variety of reasons, both supporting development of senior school athletes and supporting school leavers to continue to play competitive volleyball at a high level.

MVC aspires to provide perennial representation at the top level in New Zealand - division 1 at NZ Club Championships.

MVC in 2026

In 2026, MVC will operate 1 womens team through local tournaments, the Central Zone series and VNZ Club Champs. At this stage, we will not be supporting a men's programme.

Central Zone competition dates for 2026 are yet to be confirmed, but in 2025 were on Jul 26/27, Aug 16/17 and Sep 13/14, in Hawkes Bay, Wellington and Palmerston north respectively. The 2026 schedule is expected to be similar.

VNZ Club Champs has been confirmed for 7-10 October in Auckland.

The squad will train 2 x per week from the start of May through till Club Nationals, with additional scrimmage and training matches to be organised.

Indicative cost for the season is ~$850, with payment plans and financial support options available.

Trial registration​​​

Club trials will be held on Saturday the 25th April from 1pm - 4pm at Massey Teaching Gym. Attendance at the trials is free, but prior registration is required, via the completion of the form below.​
